In order to protect Ontario workers from U.S. tariffs and ongoing economic uncertainty, the Ontario government is investing an additional $1 billion into the Skills Development Fund (SDF) over the next three years. This new funding will support hands-on training programs and the expansion of training facilities to help workers gain in-demand skills across key sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, and construction. With this investment, the province’s total commitment to the SDF now reaches $2.5 billion, reinforcing Ontario’s long-term strategy to build a resilient and future-ready workforce. |
